* Due to the recent events involving COVID-19 and in the interest of public safety, the Brick Township Bureau of Fire Safety has modified its procedure for residential resale smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm and fire extinguisher inspections as of March 23, 2020 until April 30, 2020.
The Fire Bureau will be waiving physical inspections ONLY.
This waiver does not exempt you from all applicable codes and laws.
A waiver application shall be submitted along with applicable fees.
The required certificate for closing will be issued upon receipt and approval.
Brick Township is located in Ocean County, New Jersey and encompasses approximately 26.4 sq. miles. The Brick Township Bureau of Fire Safety was created in August of 1985 as the local enforcing agency of the Township's fire service. The office is located at 253 Brick Blvd, 2nd Floor and is organized with a Bureau Chief/Fire Marshal, 1 Assistant Bureau Chief/Asst. Fire Marshal/Fire Protection Inspector, 3 full time Fire Prevention Specialists/Asst. Fire Marshals, 3 part time Fire Prevention Specialists/Asst. Fire Marshals and 3 Clerical staff. The Bureau carries out residential and commercial inspections, provides fire sub-code inspections on behalf of the Township, and is responsible for all fire prevention and fire education initiatives within the Township.

The Brick Township Bureau of Fire Safety shall prescribe and enforce fire prevention and safety requirements as adopted by Municipal Ordinance, the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code and Nationally recognized fire safety practices, to establish a higher level of fire safety education, life safety and property protection from the hazards created by fire and explosion.
