The Brick Township Fire / EMS Explorer Post 47 program is sponsored by the Joint Board of Fire Commissioners through the Boy Scouts of America and works in conjunction with the four Township fire departments and first aid squads. The program is open to anyone out of eighth grade between the ages of 14 and 21. Started in 1999, the program has expanded to allow each member to become certified in CPR, First Responder, and obtain Firefighter 1 once they turn 18 years old.

The Explorer program remains committed to educating and promoting the importance of firefighting and emergency medicine to Brick Township youth and exposes them to a variety of career opportunities. The Explorers participate in numerous activities throughout the year including sponsorship of a competitive Fire / EMS Expo to include Explorers from other communities. There has been training with the Brick Township Technical Rescue Team and NJ Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue. Post 47 has also assisted the Jersey Shore Council, BSA with providing First Aid and Fire patrol to their Camporee including the Six Flags Great Adventure Camporee, NJ State Police Camporee, and the Island Beach State Park Camporee.
