Spring clean up
involves inside and outside of your homes.
This is the time to think about fire safety.
Are
your smoke alarms operational? When did you change the batteries last.
(Remember - Change your Clock
Change your Battery)
Look
at your electrical wiring and electrical appliances. Have you had maintenance
on them lately?
Take
inventory of your windows. Can you easily open them if you needed to
in case of a fire emergency?
Take
the time to check the inside and outside of your home.
Is
there any debris accumulating in the yard? Clean up and be fire safe!

The
only safe way to enjoy FIREWORKS is to let the professionals handle them.

Children,
ages 10 to 14 have the highest risk of injuries.
In
New Jersey, unapproved discharge of any Class C fireworks, which include
firecrackers, are illegal.
And in accordance with the code, a person shall not manufacturer, store,
offer or expose for sale, as well as discard any fireworks unless they
are permission from the Fire Official. Violators of this code section
are diligently pursued and fines result in the seizure of all fireworks,
as well as a $500. Fine.
Several township wide public displays are held throughout the year and
offer spectacular and safe displays. See the Summerfest schedule: Click

Please make an effort to attend those events, if you wish to view fireworks
displays.

Halloween
- Take special precaution in picking costumes and decorative materials
to ensure that they are flame-resistant.
Instruct children
to stay away from open flames or other heat sources. Be sure that they
all know what to do if their clothes catch on fire. STOP, DROP &
ROLL.
Make sure children
know the escape plan when attending parties at others' homes and establishments.
Check your smoke
alarm batteries - Are they new? If not, replace them.
