Fire Hydrants are strategically placed for fire department usage in the event of an emergency. Fences or poles, shrubbery or weeds should not block hydrants.
If the hydrant is in front of your house, please make sure that the area is kept clear with a minimum of three-foot radius. In addition, parking within 10 feet of a fire hydrant is a violation of township and fire code ordinances. This could happen to your vehicle if it is found blocking a needed fire hydrant.
