Mission Statement

The Brick Township Bureau of Fire Safety shall prescribe and enforce fire prevention and safety requirements as adopted by Municipal Ordinance, the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code and Nationally recognized fire safety practices, to establish a higher level of fire safety education, life safety and property protection from the hazards created by fire and explosion.

Brick Township is located in Ocean County, New Jersey and encompasses approximately 26.4 sq. miles. The Brick Township Bureau of Fire Safety was created in August of 1985 as the local enforcing agency of the Township's fire service. The office is located in the Brick Township Fire Training Center property at 500 Herbertsville Road, approximately 1-½ miles off of U.S. Highway Route 70 and is organized with a Bureau Chief/Fire Marshal, 1 full time Fire Prevention Specialist/Fire Protection Inspector, 4 full time Fire Prevention Specialists, 1 part time Fire Prevention Specialist and 2 Clerical staff. The Bureau carries out residential and commercial inspections, provides fire sub-code inspections on behalf of the Township, and is responsible for all fire prevention and fire education initiatives within the Township.
